DSC 2017 Convention Auction Item of the Week – 16-Day Bongo Hunt

DALLAS – Over the course of four days, visitors of the DSC 2017 Convention will have the opportunity to contribute to DSC conservation efforts of ensuring the future of hunting and protecting a proud heritage. Through a series of silent and live auctions, convention attendees can bid on a wide variety of multi-day hunts, artwork, firearms, luxury fishing excursions, jewelry and more. This week’s highlighted auction item is a 16-day bongo hunt for one hunter and one non-hunter in Cameroon, valued at $40,600.

The 16-day (14 hunting days) bongo rifle or bow safari has been donated by Mayo Oldiri Safaris and is will be at Lognia Camp located just inside the southeast border of Cameroon. This region is protected by the Lobeke National Park and is a classic bongo hunting area. This hunt is available on open dates April through July 2017 only and may be upgraded to include additional species or by adding hunters and non-hunters all at current price list.

A savannah hunt for eland may also be added with a 25 percent rebate on daily rates. This hunting trip includes 1×1 guide service, tracker/porter hunting team, ethnic-style camp accommodations with en-suite bathrooms, meals/beverages in camp, beer/wine during meals, camp support staff and a big-game hunting license. Not included are field prep, anti-poaching tax, pre-taxidermy, packing & shipment, gratuities, bongo trophy fee and trophy fees on any additional animals taken/wounded.

The DSC Convention and Expo will be at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and Omni Hotel in Dallas Jan. 5-8, 2017. Sportsmen and women are invited to be a part of another record-breaking event to help support conservation, education and hunter advocacy initiatives around the world. The theme this year is Adventure.

The expo offers 2017’s first opportunity to shop for hunts with top outfitters from around the globe. Displays also include world-class sporting gear, firearms, art, collectibles, entertainment, seminars, auctions and more. Together, attractions cover the space of nearly nine football fields.

Daily admission to the convention is $20 per person, with multi-day and discounted family packages available. Children under 12 and active military (with ID) are free of charge.
