Bert Klineburger, Pioneer in Hunting World

He traveled the Earth and hunted scores of different game animals, many now out of reach to the international hunter. DSC member Bert Klineburger was guide to presidents, kings, Hollywood royalty and “little guys” too. His death in June 18 represents not just the passing of a beloved man, but also of a way of life for the adventurer-hunter-conservationist.

Born in Bisbee in 1926, Klineburger along with his brothers, Chris and Gene, started a taxidermy business that became a premier guide service. The list of Klineburger’s accomplishments are too numerous to mention in this space, and his ties to DSC members were strong. A tribute to his life and legacy is planned for the Fall issue of Game Trails.

If you have a photo, a memory or astory about Bert to share for this tribute, please send an email to editor@biggame.org.

DSC extends condolences to all who knew and admired Bert. He will never be forgotten.
