DSC 2017 Convention Auction Item of the Week – Red Stag Hunt in New Zealand

Over the course of four days, visitors of the DSC 2017 Convention will have the opportunity to contribute to DSC conservation efforts of ensuring the future of hunting and protecting a proud heritage. Through a series of silent and live auctions, convention attendees can bid on a wide variety of multi-day hunts, artwork, firearms, luxury fishing excursions, jewelry and more. This week’s highlighted auction item is a five-day red stag hunt in New Zealand for three hunters and three non-hunters with Wanganui Safaris, valued at $25,500.

The hunt includes trophy fees for three red stag scoring 360 inches (1x per hunter). Preferred method of take is rifle .300 Win Mag or 7mm, with bow, black powder and crossbow as alternate choices; pistols are prohibited. This hunt is available March through July 2017, 2018 or 2019 and may be upgraded to include a larger trophy or by adding fallow, tahr and chamois all at current price list.

Additional hunters and non-hunters are welcome at the rate of $500/day for hunters and $200/day for non-hunters. Transportation during the hunt is mostly by vehicle and foot with hunting done by spot and stalk. This package includes field prep, 1×1 guide, round-trip transportation between Wanganui Airport and the lodge, first-class accommodations and all meals. Not included are dip & pack service, transportation to shipper and gratuities.

The DSC Convention and Expo will be at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and Omni Hotel in Dallas Jan. 5-8, 2017. Sportsmen and women are invited to be a part of another record-breaking event to help support conservation, education and hunter advocacy initiatives around the world. The theme this year is Adventure.

The expo offers 2017’s first opportunity to shop for hunts with top outfitters from around the globe. Displays also include world-class sporting gear, firearms, art, collectibles, entertainment, seminars, auctions and more. Together, attractions cover the space of nearly nine football fields.

Daily admission to the convention is $20 per person, with multi-day and discounted family packages available. Children under 12 and active military (with ID) are free of charge.
